About Eden Pearl:

Eden Pearl was born on August 17, 1975 in upstate New York. In 1993, Eden Pearl joined the United States Marine Corps and became a Reconnaissance Marine and Marine Special Operator; arguably the most difficult, yet coveted professions in the Marine Corps.

August 16, 2009

On the morning of August 16, 2009; while on his fourth combat tour conducting operations in the Herat Province of Afghanistan, Eden’s vehicle was struck by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). He was thrown nearly 30’ from the vehicle and his body became engulfed in flames. Eden suffered a traumatic brain injury and 3rd degree burns on over 90% of his body.

As a result of his injuries, Eden lost both legs and one arm. Some doctors and surgeons have said that Eden is the most wounded man ever to survive in the history of the United States Military. Everyone who knows him says he is the toughest, most courageeous man they've ever met.

The Road to Recovery

Eden has spent the past two years recovering in hospitals in San Antonio, Tampa and Denver and will spend the next year in Omaha undergoing intense rehabilitation. Eden’s wife and their six year old daughter have moved in and out of several apartments over the last couple years, planning to return to San Antonio where the Brook Army Medical Center and The Center for the Intrepid are both located; two facilities crucial to Eden’s recovery.

Thanks to the support of our corporate sponsors, every dollar you donate to PS Charities goes directly to those in need—the Build a House Project is no exception! The goal is simple: to provide the Pearl family with a custom, universal house, built from the ground up.  A house that will not only accommodate Eden’s disability needs, but will also provide the family with the comforts of a normal home. At this point we can't be certain of the exact fundraising goal, all money donated goes to our Military Appreciation Fund, which will support our part in building this home.
